Mr. Akito Akagi rebuilt a half-destroyed kijiya workshop after the disaster, and has been working hard to support the kijiya and pass on their skills. Kijishi-craftmen are indispensable for Wajima-nuri lacquerware because they produce the base of Wajima-nuri plates.. This is Mr. Akagi’s project for the revival and future of the Wajima-nuri and its craftsmen.
