※The 4-Per mille Initiative, an initiative to reduce the increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide to zero by increasing the amount of carbon contained in the surface layers of the world’s soils, was proposed at COP21 in 2015, and 768 countries and international organizations are working on it. Yamanashi Prefecture joined the initiative in April 2020 as a local government in Japan.
